This is one of my favorite new hikes around Boise, it is close to where I live, with plenty of varied trails to keep me having fun here for numerous hikes. Heat and exposure are the only drawbacks to this piece of heaven. So if you go, wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water, you might even go early in the morning to avoid much of the heat.
I'd love to give you exact directions to this, alas I don't know them. It is up Bogus Basin Road past the grates and a couple of big corners with the pull out on the left side on a big corner. Contact me if you need more help :)
Looking east on the Boise Foothills. My Keen summer boots are happy to rest and take in the light breeze ~ bringing the smells of hot grass, cows and fresh air.
Can you imagine how lovely this would have been for your home? - there are the remnants of a stone foundation here.
At an elevation of about 3700 this is a splendid view of Boise. I was sitting on the rocks loving life.
Just before the trek back up to the car is a splendid area filled with these fragrant wild roses, so sweet smelling. Truly inspiring!!
I was home by 11am and it sure felt great to have done 5.09 miles with time enough to water my yard, hang out with my husband and dog, and finish washing my sheets for work on Monday... Oh that job is never ending for me!!
Join me for a fun ride in life ... hiking, music, meditations, motorcycles and travels. Really, I love a good adventure!
